If you’re a hardcore wood junkie then you’re going to love our Live Edge slab collection, whose offerings include both raw and finished wood base frames which can, of course, be customised to suit your requirements. The slab’s journey begins with logs scored from sturdy tree trunks, which are left in their natural state, giving them unique characteristics such as knots, voids, checks and splits. Slabs can be squared out or left with their natural waney edges. One full slab can be used in its original complete size or cut to suit a specific requirement.

Research of wood slabs:

Plenty of heavy research goes into selecting the trees we eventually score from, with environmental ethics one of our
foremost concerns. Typically, our work begins with researching fallen, reclaimed, salvaged and unwanted trees, which
are all ethically harvested if they meet our standards.
High emphasis is also placed on the colour texture and wood characteristics of each the species we score. Our quest to
meet every single one of our designer's needs and tastes takes us to many corners of the world. We currently score
from 5 continents and exclusively research the stash for our designers.

THE JOURNEY

Once we score our stash, logs are moved from the reclamation site to the processing site, which is often a hazardous journey. A safe extraction and transportation process requires a high level of passion, which is what we junkies are full of.

MANUFACTURING & Techniques

Our stash is carried by special lifting equipment and placed on a levelled carriage. Post this, the wood slabs are cut in full
width through the log, leaving its edge intact during the mining process. This technique is known as Swaning, which
accentuates the grain and colour of the log while producing wide boards. It is only when the log is laid bare that its true
value can be determined.
The slabs are then placed amongst the same stash of trees in order to maintain uniformity. This ensures that a major slab
can be matched with a book and grain, while giving each one their own distinct identity.
We have European sanding & planning machine which is one of a kind in the Industry helping us to work with wide & long
slabs in an efficient manner, A lot to mention the quality of surface is impeccable due to this equipment making it
perfectly ready for any treatment or process.

Slabs can be utilised for a number of needs almost anywhere, from homes and offices to restaurants and coffee shops.
There’s a lot to play with when it comes to slabs, so bring out the wood junkie within you and go about putting our
slabs to great use.

Besides offering slabs, we also handle their delivery and installations.
When it comes to scoring, we harvest trees in the most ethical way possible.
We harvest wood that has been dormant for decades, unlike new wood, which is harvested hastily. Since new wood is
harvested incorrectly, it lacks the dense grains and old-growth materials that make our stash so unique.
We scour the world for the best score, and our current stash boasts of over 350 slabs of different varieties, with our
inventory constantly upgrading.
Africa, South East Asia and Europe are just some of the places we’ve scored from.
Our finished slabs are far superior than the rest due to the labour-intensive oil process we emply, which includes coats of
natural oils that are periodically dried, allowing the grains to become deeper.

Kingdom Wood Slabs Policy:

At Kingdom Slabs, we take pride in the unique construction and finish of our products. Each of our custom orders is
inspected before it leaves the factory as the only imperfections we tolerate are natural ones.
All custom orders have a 3cm production tolerance for width and lengths.
